How it started
My name is Tom Guard. I started Guardpix, a multimedia company in 2001 soon after graduating from Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. Years before I had received a BFA in film from the San Francisco Art Institute where I focused mostly on animation and music. After that I began a silkscreen and design company. With the rising digital technology and affordability of it's tools I chose to enroll in computer graphics at Cabrillo and re-focus on my original pursuit of a career in animation and music.

What it's doing
The website is here to inform you about our services and resources. My experience in graphics, printing and web design has been very valuable and enhanced the skills involved in animation and music. The site has examples of some work I've done in those areas.

The website also informs about the musical endeavors and services of my family and friends. I am a music composer and performer for hire. I'm currently in the process of recording Shy River, an album due for release in June 2008. There is also lot of demand for information about my father, David, who founded the Kingston Trio so there is a section with some of my reflections on growing up in the folk music world.

Where it's going
